About Chris Reid

What is the best advice you ever received? 

 

Out of college, I had started my professional career as an apprentice with a senior stockbroker. The greatest piece of advice I was given going into the world of sales was this, “people don’t care what you know until they know that you care”. This piece of advice has stuck with me in everything that I do. Whether that’s procuring new business, bringing on new team members, or helping someone in my community.

 

What are you most proud of in your life?

 

The thing that I am most proud of is learning to align my values, beliefs, and desires. The moment I did that, everything good in my life followed and led me to be married to a wife that I love, becoming a step-parent to my step-son, Emilio, and working in an industry that gives me the gift of waking up each day loving what I get to do.

 

What fictional place would you want to visit?

 

My favorite movie of all-time is The Goonies. I’m aware that Astoria, Oregon is not fictional. But, the place I always wanted to visit was the cave where The Goonies found the hidden pirate ship. As a kid, I always wanted to rip down those slides, land in that water, and go and dig through that treasure with Sloth yelling at us, “hey you guyyyysss!”.

 

What inspires you?

 

The answer to this question has evolved over the years. What truly inspires me now is to help provide an opportunity for creatives to do what they love, every day of the week.

I started my career as an apprentice trading investments. When I learned that industry wasn’t for me, I did the next best logical idea and joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a Marine Electrician in the Navy. After spending four years, and being posted to the HMCS Chicoutimi (submarine), I ended my contract and found my way into content. From that point forward, I’ve spent my career working with hundreds of creatives, helping brands create copy and content at scale and on-brand.
